Scottish Clans

Clan of Honour

This year's Clan of Honour will be determined shortly.  Once the decision has been made, we will post basic information about the Clan.

Family History at the Clan Tents

Scottish Clans are very tightly knit family groups, but once it is known that you are a clansman, you have gained a huge extended family.  They are also extremely proud of their heritage and the clansmen at the various clan tents in the Avenue of the Scottish Clans will be more than happy to explain to you the history of their clan.  All the clans have access to extensive genealogical documentation and using these records they can also help you determine the extent of your "Scottishness" even if you might be a "Lowlander" or "Sassenach".

Many of the clan tents also have clan memorabilia available for sale.  In addition to the Clan tents is the Federation of Scottish Clans of Nova Scotia tent.

The tents will be setup on the field for the entire day.

Any clans interested in setting up their clan tents on the grounds during the Halifax Highland Games, please contact Tom Wallace at the Federation of Scottish Clans in Nova Scotia at twallace@scotsns.ca.

The Federation of Scottish Clans In Nova Scotia

Members of the Federation are available at our tent, situated in The Avenue of Scottish Clans, to answer your questions on Scottish culture, dress, Clan Societies, etc.  We look forward to meeting you.

The Federation, founded in 1982, has the stated objective of stimulating interest in Scottish history and culture and improving communications between the various Clan Societies in Nova Scotia.
